Infection Prevention On Damaged Trees
If you’ve noticed that your tree is looking lifeless, discoloured, or limp, it could be suffering from an infection. Tree diseases are usually caused by three major types of microorganisms: fungi, bacteria, and viruses. Diseases result from an imbalance of good and bad bacteria and reestablishing that balance is the key to disease control.
Simply follow these steps:
- 1
Combine ¼ cup Hydrogen Peroxide 3% – Oxygen PlusTM with 4 cups of water.
- 2
Heavily water the plant with the mixture.
- 3
Water your plants with an interval of every other watering until life is restored to your tree.
Signs of infection in your tree can include wilting leaves, premature leaf drop, foliage discolouration, dead branches, stunted leaf growth, white, black, or brown spots on leaves, cotton-like masses, or holes in the bark of the tree. If you suspect your tree is suffering from an infection, all hope is not lost! Infections can be treated using [hp]. Hydrogen peroxide is not only an environmentally-friendly alternative to pesticides, but it has the added benefit of killing bacteria, viruses, mould spores, and fungi that are most likely the cause of your tree’s declining health.
Hydrogen peroxide (H202) is similar in chemical structure to water (H20)—the difference is that hydrogen peroxide contains two oxygen atoms instead of one. The additional oxygen molecule found in hydrogen peroxide helps trees’ roots better absorb nutrients from the surrounding soil which can lead to a faster recovery.
Traditional fungicides are very toxic and have the potential to harm more than just the targeted pests. [hp], on the other hand, is completely non-toxic, containing no harmful chemicals or additives. This makes it safe to use around your entire family, including pets. Although hydrogen peroxide is a chemical, it biodegrades completely into two natural elements: water and oxygen. You can rest assured that it’s environmentally-friendly and will not harm any wild animals that pass through your yard.
